Utomo Obong is an annual event during which the 12 clans of the Efik Kingdom gather to pay homage to their King, The Obong of Calabar.
On the occasion of the anniversary of the King’s Coronation, a thanksgiving ceremony is held.
The celebrations conclude with a yuletide homage to the king at his country home, Adiabo Ikot Otu Ibuot, Odukpani local government area where tributes are paid to the natural ruler of the Efik Kingdom to commemorate the occasion.
